1. What this policy covers
This Cookie Policy explains how nuxfamily.ng (the "Site"), operated by NuxFamily Nigeria, uses cookies and similar browser storage technologies, what they do, and how you can control them. It forms part of our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal data more generally.
The Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 requires that we obtain your consent before storing or reading information on your device that is not strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for. We have designed the Site so that nothing non-essential runs until you say so.
2. Cookies and browser storage, in short
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device and reads on later visits. Local storage is a similar mechanism built into modern browsers; unlike a cookie, it is not sent to the server with every request and stays on your device unless you or the website removes it.
The Site uses local storage for its own strictly necessary preferences and uses cookies only for analytics, and only after consent.
3. Strictly necessary storage
These items are required for the Site to work as you expect. They do not track you, are not shared with anyone, and cannot be switched off through the consent banner because the Site would not function correctly without them. They contain no personal data.

Our hosting provider may also set a short-lived technical cookie to route your requests to the correct server. It contains no identifier that persists between sessions.
4. Analytics cookies (optional, consent required)
With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 ("GA4"), a service provided by Google, to understand which pages are visited, how visitors arrive at the Site and which content is useful. We use this information to improve the Site. It is aggregated and we do not use it to identify individual visitors.
GA4 is loaded only after you click "Accept" in the cookie banner. Until then no Google script is downloaded and no analytics cookie is set. We implement Google Consent Mode: the analytics tag is instructed that consent for analytics storage is denied by default and granted only when you accept. If you reject, the tag is never loaded.
When enabled, GA4 sets the following cookies:

We have configured GA4 to anonymise IP addresses, to disable data sharing with other Google products and advertising features, and to retain event data for 14 months. Google processes this data under its own terms as our processor; Google's servers may be located outside Nigeria, and the transfer is covered by the safeguards described in section 8 of our Privacy Policy.
5. No advertising or social-media cookies
The Site does not use advertising cookies, remarketing pixels, social-media tracking buttons or any other third-party tracking technology. Embedded content, where present, is loaded in a privacy-preserving mode that does not set cookies until you interact with it.
6. How to change your choice
You can change your mind at any time.
- On the Site: open cookie settings from the footer of any page. You can switch analytics on or off there; the change takes effect immediately and your new choice is recorded in
nf-cookie-consent. Withdrawing consent stops further analytics collection, and the GA4 cookies are deleted. - In your browser: every major browser allows you to view, block and delete cookies and local storage for a site, and to block all third-party cookies. Instructions are available from your browser's help pages. Blocking strictly necessary storage may cause parts of the Site, such as your theme preference, to reset on every visit.
- Google opt-out: Google also offers a browser add-on that prevents GA4 from collecting data on any website, available from Google's website.
Deleting nf-cookie-consent from local storage will cause the consent banner to appear again on your next visit.
7. What consent means and how we record it
When you accept analytics cookies we record the fact, the date and the version of this policy in local storage on your device. We do not store your consent record on our servers, so we cannot link it to you. If you later reject, the earlier record is overwritten. This is the evidence that consent was obtained, as the NDPA requires, without creating a database of visitors.
8. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy if we add, remove or change any cookie or storage item, or if the law changes. The date at the top shows the last revision. If we introduce a new non-essential cookie we will ask for your consent again before setting it.
