    Two decades in production, in banking, under audit

    The team behind NuxFamily has spent more than twenty years designing, building and running private clouds for European financial institutions and large corporations. The work has always been the full stack: virtualised infrastructure, Kubernetes and PaaS layers, databases, streaming and analytics platforms, and the operating model that keeps them running. Most of it was delivered under regulatory supervision, with audit trails, change control and defined recovery objectives.

    From Nuxia to NuxFamily

    NuxFamily is the evolution of Nuxia, the technology company founded and run by the same engineers and management. The name changes; the people, the methods and the references do not. We use NuxFamily for our work in Nigeria and West Africa, and the European centre of excellence continues to operate under the same team.

    Why Nigeria, and why now

    On 15 June 2026 the Central Bank of Nigeria required banks, fintechs and payment service providers to store and manage all payment transaction data inside the country by 1 January 2027. The scope covers primary processing, databases, backups and administrative functions such as access management, encryption keys and audit logs. Nigeria has the data centre capacity and the budget. What is scarce is complete local cloud platforms and engineers who have built and operated private cloud at scale. That is the work we have been doing for twenty years.

    How we work: the whole journey, one counterpart

    We do not hand over a platform and leave. Every engagement follows the same six stages: assess, design, build, migrate, operate and evolve. We cover the stack from the hypervisor to the data catalogue, so a client does not need to combine five vendors. Migrations run in waves with rollback defined before anything moves, and the client's own team ends up operating the platform with NuxFamily behind it.

    Open source with someone accountable

    Most of what we deploy is open source: Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Greenplum and Apache Cloudberry, OpenSearch, OpenMetadata. Open source without support is a risk a bank cannot put in front of its regulator, so we wrap every component in official support with response times, patch commitments and a version policy. The platform belongs to the client. The accountability sits with us.

    NuxFamily Nigeria serves banks, fintechs and payment providers from Lagos, with delivery capacity in Abuja. Local engineers lead on-site work, data centre coordination and regulatory engagement, and are backed by the European centre of excellence for architecture and 24×7 support.

  • Europe, centre of excellence

    The engineering centre in Madrid, Spain, holds the platform architects, database and data engineers and the support organisation that has served European banks, insurers and retailers for two decades. It provides second- and third-line support to the Nigeria team and to clients.
